Wage Type Copier

Use

Note Note

You are advised to use the wage type copier within Customizing (transaction OH11) only. It is available in all the steps that enable you to copy wage types. You can find it, for example, in Customizing for Payroll by choosing Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Environment of Wage Type Maintenance Next navigation step Create Wage Type Catalog End of the navigation path .

You can also call up the wage type copier without Customizing by entering transaction PU30.

End of the note.

The wage type copier provides you with the following functions:

  • Copy wage types

You copy model wage types, which are included in the standard system, to the customer-specific namespace. In this way, you create your own customer-specific wage type catalog.

  • Delimit or delete wage types

You can delimit or delete customer-specific wage types that you no longer require.

Caution Caution

Never delete SAP model wage types.

Never delete customer-specific wage types in a production system. You must only ever delete customer-specific wage types in a test system.

You are advised not to delete or delimit customer-specific wage types. Instead, you should no longer allow them to be entered in infotypes. This prevents the wage type from being used in your system any longer. However, you avoid the problems that can arise when wage types are deleted or delimited.

End of the caution.
  • Check completeness of wage types

Wage types are stored in tables. Table T512W ( Wage Type Valuation) is a central table that must contain all customer-specific wage types. You can perform a test run to check that wage types in other tables are also contained in table T512W. The system displays a list of all wage types that are not contained in table T512W.

  • Documentation on model wage type

When you copy a model wage type to the customer-specific namespace, the system also copies its documentation. You can change the documentation on the customer-specific wage type by using transaction PDSY (HR Documentation Maintenance) .
