Package com.sap.sl.sdk.authoring.businesslayer Description

This package provides classes to create business layers and manage business layer objects.

Metadata objects that compose a business layer are modelized as BlItem objects.

Meaningful business objects inherit from the BusinessObject object, which itself inherits from BlItem. Following are the main business objects:

Relational filters are also modelized via BlItem objects. Folders are represented as BlContainer objects, which modelize lists of BlItem.

BusinessLayerFactory provides methods to create instances of the following objects:

Relational business layers
Business layer items (Dimension, Measure, Attribute, Folder, and NativeRelationalFilter)
Business layer views
Parameters
Lists of values (static, based on a SQL expression, and based on a custom hierarchy)
Prompt answers and answer values
Custom properties
Aggregate incompatibilities
Navigation paths
Predefined and custom data display formats of business objects whose values are numeric or date-time

BusinessLayerService provides methods to:

Retrieve the list of implicit tables of a BlItem.
Detect the columns of a list of values based on a SQL expression.
Retrieve the full path of a BlItem in the business layer directory.
Retrieve a BlItem from its full path.
Add core universes to the list of universes linked to a business layer.
Remove core universes from the list of universes linked to a business layer.
Include the core universe components into a business layer.
Synchronize structures and components of core universes linked to a business layer with core universes of a repository.
Update the path and name of a core universe linked to a business layer.

The interfaces of the package also provide methods to:

Set and get query options of a BusinessLayer (query limits and query options).
Set and get generic properties of BusinessLayers and BlItems (name, description, and access levels).
Set and get source information of a BusinessObject (technical information, mapping, and lineage).
Associate a list of values with a BusinessObject.
