Work Area Description

Use

You use this function in order to:

  • Translate the description of the work area into the languages installed in the system

The description is displayed beside the work area ID. The description can have a maximum length of 60 characters.

  • Enter a text of any chosen length as additional documentation on the work area and translate it too

Integration

You can print out the description and the documentation in the required language on reports , for example, on standard operating procedures (SOPs).

You can also use EH&S Native Language Suppo rt to enter descriptions and documentation in languages from different code pages . For more information, see EH&S Native Language Support in the application help for the EH&S Product Safety component .

Activities

To call the function, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Description End of the navigation path in the hit list . The Edit Work Area: Description screen appears.

If you want to enter a text on the Documentation tab page that is longer than the visible length of the input field Description (long text), execute the following steps:

  1. You enter the required language.

  2. You open the long text editor by double-clicking the Description field.

  3. You enter your text and choose ( Back ).

Note Note

The system indicates that a long text exists by displaying a pushbutton at the end of the entry line. You can choose this pushbutton to display the long text.

Once you have entered a long text, you can edit the text using the long text editor only.
