Entering Reference Values This procedure describes how you enter reference values for an agent that is a specification. You require reference values if, for example, you want to compare the amounts you determined in a work area with the reference values laid down for this agent within the scope of a risk assessment.
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled for you to be able to enter reference values:
The agent exists in
specification management
.
The
value assignment typesin which the reference values are entered exist in Customizing for
Basic Data and Tools
.
The value assignment types must be assigned to the property tree that is used by
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for

.
In Customizing for
Industrial Hygiene and Safety
under
Specify Measurement Items
, an entry must exist for each value assignment type specifying which value assignment type and characteristic the respective reference value is entered in.
Caution
This last prerequisite does
not
apply for reference values you enter for the
measurement management
(EHS-IHS-MEM)
component (see
Which Value Assignment Types Does Measurement Management Require?
).
In the navigation area of the workbench, choose
Agent
by double-clicking.
Enter your search criteria for the agent in the application area and choose
with the quick info text
Hit List
. For more information on the search, see
Specification Search
.
Open the required agent by double-clicking it. The property tree for this agent then appears in the detailed structure.
Navigate to the property (value assignment type) in which you can store reference values as specified in Customizing and enter the required data.
Save your entries.
You have entered a reference value for an agent. This value is required by the system, for example, in the analysis method Measured Value-Reference Value Comparison or in the Amount Overview .
