Basic System Settings The settings described in the following assume that you have already made the basic settings required (organizational structure,
SD/MM
Customizing etc.) in the
RM-CA
System. The
Middleware
settings to be made in the RM-CA System are described.
Creation of the product hierarchy (as in the
RM-CA
System: seeSetup and Load Guide).
Assign the category hierarchy to the application (transaction COMM_PRAPPLCAT).
You must assign the product hierarchy created to the
Product
application. The system downloads this to the product hierarchy selected during an initial download of materials from the
RM-CA
System according to the settings you make here.
Download the Customizing objects required (Details: Transaction R3AC3, Transaction R3AS).
Caution
You must ensure that the Customizing settings in both systems are compatible before you can download master data (business objects, condition objects) from the back-end system to the
CRM
System. This means that if for instance no mapping tables are available for certain fields, that the corresponding values must be available with identical names in both systems.
One example of this is the
general item category group
in the product master record, which must be available with the same name in the Customizing settings for the
RM-CA
System and the Customizing settings for the
CRM
System, to ensure that the product download functions correctly (SeeBusiness Partnersection).
Create the organizational structure
You have the following options for creating the organizational structure:
a. Using a download from the
RM-CA
System (Transaction CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE).
b.Manually (Choose the following in the Customizing settings for Customer Relationship Management:
You must create distribution channels and divisions (dummy division) with the same names for their equivalents in the
RM-CA
System.
Sales organizations, offices and sales groups etc are mapped in the organizational model from the
CRM
System (Transaction PPOMA_CRM).
Download the business objects required (Details: Transaction R3AC1) and condition objects (Details: Transaction R3AC5): Transaction R3AS.
Essential objects are described in greater detail in theSetup and Load Guide.Observe the sequence when downloading the object. Business partner relationships for instance cannot be downloaded until the business partners have been downloaded successfully. (SeeBusiness Partner section).
If you simply want to copy specific data records from the
RM-CA
System, you must set the filter for the corresponding objects before performing the download.
If you do not require any data records from the
RM-CA
System, but intend to perform a subsequent delta replication, you must still perform an initial download with a complete filter. The initial download is the prerequisite for a delta replication.
