Integration of External Billing Systems An external billing system is responsible for billing and invoicing service and contract data where SAPCRM is integrated with SAPIS-T/RM-CA. Data is transferred to the billing system using CRM Middleware. The billing system transfers the invoice documents created to the RM-CA System.
The external billing system can also activate and lock telecommunication services. Data for the telecommunication services to be activated or locked is transferred to the billing system by the CRM Middleware. Information on locked services can then be returned to the CRM System and (if necessary) the RM-CA System (see also Telecommunication Services in RM-CA ). Additional information on the interface between SAPCRM and the external billing system is found under Technical Enhancements .
If SAPIS-T/
RM-CA
is integrated with an external billing system without SAPCRM, customer and contract account data is transferred to the billing system directly from the RM-CA System. SAP offers a standard interface technology, known as the
IDoc interface, which can be used to generate open items in the
RM-CA
System from the billing documents in the Billing System.
If SAPIS-T/RM-CA is not used in connection with SAPCRM, the billing system manages telecommunication services and activates and locks services.
The
IDoc interface can also be used to transfer data for theProfitability Analysis
(
CO-PA
).
