Creation of a Configuration Profile You can use the
modeling environment for Variant Configuration
to create a configuration profile for the
material
.
A configurable material can have several configuration profiles, which are displayed in the model tree . If a configuration profile already exists, you cannot add a further profile in the modeling environment.
Select the material in the model tree and use the context menu to create the configuration profile.
In the dialog box displayed, you can then change the default name for the profile and specify whether Engineering Change Management is to be used and whether BOMs are to be exploded for the material. If you choose the
BOM Must Be Exploded
option, you can specify the application for which the BOM is exploded. See also
Control of the BOM Explosion
.
You can then specify the processing method on the next dialog box. See also Process Overview .
