Integration

Maintenance Orders and Maintenance Notifications

The jobs in a job list are created from maintenance orders and maintenance notifications either in the SAP ERP back-end system or the relevant Web Dynpro applications. Maintenance orders and notifications are therefore the reference documents for jobs.

Note Note

If a maintenance notification exists for a maintenance order, then only one job is created and the maintenance order is the reference document. However, if a job based on a notification has the status Job in Process and an order is subsequently created for the notification in the back-end system, then the reference document associated with the job changes from notification to order. The user is notified of this on creation of the order in the back-end system.

End of the note.

The following table shows the prerequisites that an order or a notification must meet in order for a job to exist in the job list:

Reference Document Type

Prerequisites for Job Creation in Job List

Order with operation (an order cannot be created without an operation)

  • Both order header and operation have the status Released (REL).

  • The operation has the status Transferred to Job List (TTJL).

Existing order operations and notification tasks (if there is an assigned notification) receive this status when you print the shop papers of the order and at least one of the selected shop papers is configured to print to the job card. For more information, see note below.

Notification without tasks

  • A notification has been created and has the status Notification in Process (NOPR).

  • The system has created a notification task with the status Transferred to Job List (TTJL).

    Note Note

If a notification does not have any tasks, the system automatically creates one when you use the print function to transfer the notification data to the job list using the output device Job Card. This is because a job must have at least one work item, and, in the case of a job based on a notification, work items correspond to tasks.

    End of the note.

Notification with outstanding task

  • A notification has been created and has the status Notification in Process (NOPR).

  • A task has been created for the notification and has the status Task Outstanding (TSOS).

  • The notification task has the status Transferred to Job List (TTJL) as described above.

Notification with task released

  • A notification has been created and has the status Notification in Process (NOPR).

  • A task has been created for the notification and has the status Released (TSRL).

  • The notification task has the status Transferred to Job List (TTJL) as described above.

Note Note

By configuring the shop papers of orders and notifications to print to the job card, you specify that you do not want the print function to physically output the shop papers as a spool request via the SAP spool system but that the contents of the shop papers are stored to a database table instead. When you choose to print the order or notification, Job Card is specified as the output device for the relevant shop papers in the print dialog box. You cannot change this entry and it does not refer to an actual output device.

When the end user (the maintenance worker) selects the corresponding job in the job list and chooses to display the job card, the system retrieves the data of all the shop papers that were printed using the print function and generates a single PDF document.

For more information about how to configure shop papers to print to the job card, see Display Job Card.

End of the note.

Note Note

In addition to the above prerequisites, an order or notification must meet the selection criteria of the job list POWL query in order to appear as a job in the job list.

End of the note.
SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management

The integration of an external risk management system, such as SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management, into this iView allows you to visualize the risks associated with a job through the display of safety symbols. For more information, see SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management Integration in the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions.

Work Clearance Management (WCM)

The integration of WCM into this iView allows you to access the work permits of a WCM-relevant order, as well as perform certain functions of work permit management. For more information, see Work Clearance Management Integration in the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions.

Access and Navigation

You can access this iView from the Job List workset.

From this iView, you can display objects associated with a job in the relevant Web Dynpro applications, for example, reference document, reference object, and job card.

You can also access the Asset Viewer from this iView.

Configuration

  • You must define and configure queries for the job list POWL.

For more information, see Configuration of POWLs for Job List and Confirmation List.

  • When you start to process a job in the job list, its status must change to Job in Process. A job must have this status before it can be confirmed. You can specify how and when the status of a job is set to Job in Process in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Start of the navigation path Maintenance Roles Next navigation step Maintenance Worker Next navigation step Specify When Status "Job in Process" is Set End of the navigation path.

    The following options are available:

    • You can change the status manually by choosing the Start Processing pushbutton. This is the default setting.

It is possible to change the status of a job manually in the following locations:

      • Job list

You can change the status of one or more jobs in the job list by selecting the required job or jobs and choosing Start Processing. Note that if you select multiple jobs and one job already has the status Job in Process, then a warning is displayed and the job in question is not changed.

      • Job card

You can also change the status of a job by first selecting it in the job list and choosing to display its job card, and then choosing Start Processing. This is possible as long as the job is not already in process.

    • The system sets the status when you select a job in the job list and display its job card.

    • The system sets the status automatically when you use the print function to transfer the order or notification data to the job list using the output device Job Card. Note that in this case, the Start Processing pushbutton is not available in the job list.

  • In the job list, it is possible to assign or reassign responsibility for a job. If you do not want users to be able to perform this function, then you must remove authorization for transactions IW22 and IW32 assigned to the relevant authorization role. You do this in the role administration tool (transaction PFCG).
