Definition

Characteristic that classifies advertising services that require the same type of processing and management.

The ad , online , ad insert, distribution, commercial and service item types exist in the system.

Use

To replicate and control sales of advertising services in the system using your business processes.

To define fields, tab pages, functions and determination procedures for sales of advertising services.

To create ad specs for ad and online orders and full or selective bookings for ad insert or distribution orders.

Structure

Item types are defined in the system.

You can assign output, document and partner determination procedures to these item types.

  • The output determination procedure defines which types of output are to be sent once an event that is defined in Customizing has occurred.

  • The document determination procedure defines which pricing procedure is used during pricing.

  • The partner determination procedure defines mandatory and optional roles to be performed by business partners during advertising sales.

Output, document and partner determination procedures are assigned to these item types in Customizing.

Note that an output, document or partner determination procedure can also be assigned to an item type for each item category.

If you have assigned an output, document or partner determination procedure for each item type and item category to an item type, the system determines this when you confirm the sales document data.

Sales document type, item type and item category

The sales document type, item type and item category define the way in which advertising sales are replicated and controlled in the system.

The sales document type is specified during sales document creation.
