Creating a Nutrient Composition

Use

You use this procedure to create the nutrient composition of a substance.

When you have created the nutrient composition for all relevant substances, the system can determine the nutrient composition of the primary output of a formula from the nutrient compositions of the input substances in the nutrient views of the formula. You can transfer this determined nutrient composition to the nutrient composition for the substance of the primary output.

Prerequisites

  • In Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Parameters for Explosion Scope , you have specified the value assignment type for the nutrient composition for the explosion scope NTR_CMP.

  • You have created specifications for all nutrients for which you want to enter values in the nutrient composition, and have assigned the nutrients to nutrient groups.

Procedure

  1. Choose Substance in the recipe workbench by double-clicking it.

  2. Enter search criteria for the substance for which you want to create the nutrient composition and confirm your entries.

    The Edit Specification: Hit List screen appears.

  3. Select the specification of the substance by double-clicking it.

    The Edit Specification: Header Data screen appears.

  4. In the Detailed Structure screen area in the property tree, select the value assignment type for the nutrient composition by double-clicking it (see “Prerequisites”). This is the value assignment type Nutrient Composition in the standard system.

  5. On the Nutrient Composition tab page, select the required nutrient group and enter values in the table for the nutrients of this nutrient group. Note the following:

    • The values for the nutrient composition refer to the substance quantity displayed in the Reference Quantity field. You define this quantity in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Define and Assign Values to Environment Parameters in the FRML_NUTR_REF_UNIT (Reference Unit for Nutrient Content) and FRML_NUTR_REF_VALUE (Reference Value for Nutrient Content) environment parameters.

    • You can display the nutrient values of a template and transfer them if required. To do this, proceed as follows:

      1. Enter the template specification in the Template Specification field and confirm your entries.

        The system displays the values of the template in the nutrient table.

      2. If you want to transfer a value from the template, select the line containing the nutrient and choose with the quick info text Copy Vals from Templ. .

  6. Repeat the previous steps for more nutrient groups if required.

  7. If required, enter the relevant data on the other tab pages, for example, on the Usage tab page. Note that when the system determines the nutrient composition of the primary output of a formula, it only takes into account the data records of the substances involved that have a usage that corresponds to the data source that you selected in the nutrient views.

  8. Create any other value assignment instancesyou require.

  9. Save your entries.
