Outputting and Comparing Data

Use

This procedure describes how you output recipe, formula, and substance data with different output variants to evaluate or compare it.

Prerequisites

  • You have already assigned values to the output parameters you frequently require in the output layout of the output variant (see Editing Output Variants ).

  • You have called all recipe and formula tab pages from which you want to output data at least once and saved the recipe or formula afterwards.

  • If you want to output recipe data using the Recipe Comparison output variant, the system only outputs the data on the following tab pages if the recipe is consistent :

    • Composition

    • Ingredients

    • Nutrients

    • Diet Suitability: Summary

For more prerequisites, see Output and Comparison of Data .

Procedure

  1. Load the recipes, formulas, or substances whose data you want to output.

  2. In the hit list, select the recipes, formulas, or substances whose data you want to output. If you want to compare recipes, formulas, or substances, select the following recipes, formulas, or substances:

    • The reference recipe, reference formula, or reference substance, that is, the recipe, formula, or substance on whose data the comparison is based

    • The recipes, formulas, or substances you want to compare with the reference recipe, formula, or substance

  3. Carry out one of the following steps:

    • If you have already activated the output variant you want, choose with the quick info text Output .

The data that you want is output.

    • If you have not activated an output variant or have activated a different one to the one you wanted, choose with the quick info text Change Output Variant .

The group overview of the output variants appears.

  4. Carry out one of the following steps:

    • If you do not want to change the output parameters in the output variant you chose before the data is output, proceed as follows:

      1. Activate the output variant you require by double-clicking it.

        The hit list screen reappears.

      2. Choose with the quick info text Output.

    • If you want to change the output parameters in the output variant you chose before the data is output, proceed as follows:

      1. Choose or next to the output variant.

      2. Enter the parameters you require and choose Output .

    Note Note

If you want to use the output parameters that you changed for several outputs, you have to save them as an output layout and copy the output variant if necessary. Then save the changed output parameters in this copy. For more information and for information about what you have to take into account when changing the parameters, see Editing Output Variants . For examples of how you can set up the output using these output parameters, see Row Keys and Column Keys .

    End of the note.

    Note Note

You can also start the data output as follows:

    • In the overview tree, select the recipes, formulas, or substances that are to be output and choose Recipe Output , Formula Output , or Output in the context menu of the recipes, formulas, or substances.

    • Choose a recipe, formula, or substance to be output by double-clicking it in the overview tree or hit list and then choose with the quick info text Output . This means you can also start the output for a recipe, formula, or substance that you are currently editing.

    End of the note.

Result

The system carries out the evaluation and displays the data according to the settings you made in the output layout of the output variant. If the data display does not fulfill your requirements, you can change it as follows:

  1. Choose Change Parameters .

  2. Change the parameters and choose Output .

If you specified in the output layout that the data is output with Microsoft Excel, you can also change the display using Microsoft Excel functions. Note, however, that the system only uses Microsoft Excel to display the data; if you make changes to the data in Microsoft Excel, these changes are not reflected in the SAP system.
