Carrying Out Settlement Scheduling

Use

Settlement scheduling is a process step in the commission case. It is carried out if a standard agreement for settlement scheduling exists in the commission contract and individual settings have been made for the specific contract. An agreement for actual commissioncan also be made.

The objective of settlement scheduling is not to disburse remuneration entitlements in one single commission payment but to schedule them on fixed dates over a defined period as settlement schedule items. The system creates settlement schedules in which the agreed remuneration is distributed into settlement schedule items that, in turn, are converted to settlement items in the settlement schedule run. These are transferred to the disbursement system in the settlement run.

Caution Caution

The concept of remuneration scheduling called the legal right to future commission will be completely replaced by settlement scheduling . In other words, the rule for the legal right to future commission will no longer be a remuneration type option. Instead, the scheduling rule will be used in the determination of the commission case process either dynamically or with customer-specific settings.

End of the caution.

Features

In settlement scheduling, the system schedules settlement of the remuneration entitlement on the basis of the scheduling rules. The result of this is the creation of a settlement schedule consisting of one or more settlement schedule items. Each settlement schedule item represents a scheduled settlement item.

In the case of the standard agreement for settlement scheduling where there is an additional agreement for actual commission, the following commission-triggering business transactions call for settlement scheduling:

  • New remuneration entitlement The reporting/operational system transfers a remunerating business case for a new business object to SAP ICM. The system creates a new settlement schedule for each remuneration line.

  • Changed object attributes

The reporting/operational system reports the change of a business object in a particular business transaction. The existing settlement schedule has to be rescheduled if the reported change of at least one subobject (such as line of business or tariff) affects the remuneration. The prerequisite for this is that the business object is not subject to a valuation change.

    Note Note

Business object changes that affect the scheduling of historic remuneration must be reported in a separate commission case with valuation change zero . A business object change that results in a valuation change calls for a new remuneration entitlement, and rescheduling cannot take place in this case. For rescheduling to be triggered, object changes that affect both remuneration scheduling and object valuation should not be included in the same commission case.

    End of the note.

Activities

When a commission case is delivered to the commission system, the system first checks whether settlement scheduling is specified in the contract. If there is an agreement for settlement scheduling, the system creates a settlement schedule for each remuneration line based on the specified scheduling rules. If there is also an agreement in the commission contract for release rules (actual commission), the settlement schedule item is subject to release on the basis of actual commission. The fulfillment level tool is responsible for monitoring and updating the fulfillment levels in conjunction with the release rules.
