Roles in Travel Management

Use

You use roles (single or composite roles) to enable employees to work in Travel Management purely on the basis of tasks and functions.

The roles in Travel Management support decentralized and central organization of travel and expenses process, as well as a mixture of the two, with the focus on decentralization.

In decentralized organization, travelers are responsible for entering their own travel requests, travel plans, and expense reports in the system. In mixed, central organization, a travel assistant can assume these tasks on behalf of several travelers. In central organization, a travel administrator can enter and review the expense reports on behalf of several travelers.

You can configure the standard roles to meet your individual requirements. You can also create new roles. The following standard roles are defined for Travel Management:

Standard Role	Use
Traveler SAP _FI_TV_TRAVELER	Employees with these standard roles can run the assigned transactions of Travel Management in SAP GUI. The roles also contain the necessary authorization profiles for running Web Dynpro Java-based applications for the Trips and Expenses Employee Self-Service ( ESS ) in SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Traveler SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _TRAVELER	Employees with these standard roles can run the assigned Web Dynpro ABAP-based applications for Travel Management in SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). The roles also contain the necessary authorization profiles for running Web Dynpro ABAP-based applications for the Trips and Expenses ESS in SAP NetWeaver Portal. Travel Assistant SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _ASSISTANT

Travel Policy Administrator SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _POLICY_ADMIN	Employees with this role can execute frequently used Customizing applications for policy management in NWBC.
Approving Manager SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _APPROVER	Employees with this role can run the work center for approving managers and the associated applications in NWBC. This role is integrated into the MSS role for Web Dynpro ABAP-based applications ( SAP _MANAGER_ MSS _NWBC).
ESS Single Role for Travelers SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _ ESS _TRAVELER	Employees with this role can run the work center for travelers and the associated applications in NWBC. This role is integrated into the ESS role for Web Dynpro ABAP-based applications ( SAP _EMPLOYEE_ ESS _WDA_1).
Travel Assistant SAP _FI_TV_ WEB _ ESS _ASSISTANT	Employees with this role can run the work center for travel assistants and the associated applications in NWBC.
Travel Interaction Center Agent SAP _FI_TV_TIC_AGENT	This role authorizes service agents to execute, from within the travel interaction center, the necessary transactions and the Web Dynpro ABAP-based applications in the Travel Management system. The travel interaction center is a shared services center in SAP Customer Relationship Management ( SAP CRM ).
