Record Number Generator

Definition

The Record Number Generator is a tool that you can use to determine which information is used for the unique description of a record (record number) or a document (document number).

Use

You can create generation rules for records or documents. These rules can consist of multiple rule elements. Each rule element contains information that can be part of the unique ID.

The generation rule applies if a user has to enter the unique ID of a record or document. The user has the option of generating this ID. The system generates it by using the rule elements that you included in the generation rule.
