Background documentationCustomizing for Electronic Data Exchange

You need to configure the electronic data exchange (EDI) because the data that customers or vendors send does not always match the data structures in the target system. The system must be able to interpret the incoming data correctly: The customer's material management system must interpret the vendor's data correctly, and the vendor's SD system must interpret the customer' data correctly. In the Customizing activities for the electronic data exchange, you determine how the system handles incoming data.
