File Menu

Edit Composite

Composite Details: You can edit name and description, and enable translation for the composite.

Note

A composite is translated when translation is enabled for both the composite and stories using it.

Paste Overall Values Only

 You can copy and paste items across composites, or between composites and optimized stories.
Note

Unsupported widgets in composites won't be pasted from optimized stories.

Pasting pages from optimized stories isn't supported.

The following widgets are available in composites:

  • Button (advanced mode only)

  • Filters/Controls (advanced mode only):

    • Checkbox Group

    • Dropdown

    • Radio Button Group

  • Text Inputs: Input Field (advanced mode only)

  • Planning Actions:

    • Data Action Trigger

    • Multi Action Trigger

    • BPC Planning Sequence Trigger

  • Others:

    • Image

    • Shape

Tools Menu

Submenu Description
Add New Data Import data from a file, data source, or an existing dataset or model to create visualizations in your composite.
Publish Data (planning models only) For more information, refer to Planning on Public Versions.
Edit Prompts Set variables for a data model used in the composite. Charts or tables built from the model get updated based on the values you enter.
Formula Bar For more information, refer to The Formula Bar.
Allocate (planning models only)
Version History (planning models only) For more information, refer to Undo, Redo, and Revert Changes to Versions.
Version Management (planning models only) For more information, refer to About the Version Management Panel.
Value Lock Management (planning models only) For more information, refer to About Value Lock Management.
Set/unset read only for selected cells.  
Cell References and Formulas
  • Show References: For more information, refer to Cell References.
  • Remove Reference
  • Show Formulas: See all formulas in the composite.
Linked Widgets Diagram View and manage widget relationships in the composite.

Left Side Panel Left side panel consists of:
  • Assets
  • Outline
Right Side Panel Right side panel consists of Builder and Styling panels.
Info Panel (advanced mode only) Info panel consists of:
Advanced Mode You can enable advanced mode, which has the following additions:
  • Widgets to which scripts can be assigned (refer to Insert Menu section)
  • Info panel
  • Script editor
  • Interface functions and events
  • Script variables and objects
