You're now in the composite design environment.

  5. Configure the widget in the right side panel.
  6. You can add more widgets to be included in the composite as a whole. The widgets are displayed in ID under Composite in Outline.
  7. Save the composite.
    1. Select Start of the navigation path Next navigation step SaveEnd of the navigation path.
    2. Choose where to save your composite from the file repository.
    3. Enter a name for your composite, and a description (optional).

Next Steps

You've created and saved a composite. Story designers or developers can then import it to stories and use it as other built-in widgets. For more information, refer to Use Composites in Your Story Design (Optimized Story Experience).

Note

Only edit mode is supported in composites, while view mode isn't yet available.

Add Scripts to Composites

You can add scripts to your composite to implement custom logic. You can also define interface functions and events for story developers to add scripts to the composite in Optimized Story Experience. For more information, refer to Define Interface Functions and Events in Composites.

Set Variables in Composites

When you create the first chart or table using a data source that requires you to set variables, a prompt appears for you to do so. The variables are applied to all tables and charts in the composite that use the data source.

Later if you want to change composite variables, from Tools in the toolbar, select Edit Prompts and then the data source to open the prompt.

You can override composite variables for an individual table or chart by selecting (Edit Table Prompts or Edit Chart Prompts) on it. Then, select Set Table Variables or Set Chart Variables, and set the variables. Instead, if you want the table or chart to use composite variables, select Use Composite Variables.
