Calendar

Use the calendar to organize your workflows with calendar events: You can create different types of tasks and assign people to work on them and others to review the work. You can use processes to manage multiple events.

What Can I Do with the Calendar?

You can use your calendar in the following ways:

  • Create tasks, assign them to users, and set due dates.
  • Create processes, and add tasks or other processes to them.

A process is an aggregation of all the events that it contains, these can be tasks or other processes. The process gives a high-level view of how much work is completed and how much remains.

  • Monitor your progress.

Calendar events help you structure and monitor your collaborative planning processes. You can also use some event types for any other workflow you'd like to manage with the calendar. Check out which types of calendar events to use for which purpose: Calendar Events: Different Types for Different Purposes

Calendar Views

You can display your tasks and processes in different formats: the Calendar, the Gantt, and the List view. See: Using Different Views in the Calendar

You can monitor your tasks and processes from the home screen, too. See: Adding Calendar Highlights to the Home Screen

Calendar Roles

There are different roles associated with a task or a process and each role has specific actions. See: Calendar Roles

Let's Start

To start working with the calendar, learn more about workflows and basics:

Use the calendar to create tasks for yourself or assign them to other people. Optionally, add reviewers to approve or reject the work of the assignees. Use the calendar to create processes that help manage your calendar events. Use the calendar to keep track of your input tasks. With data locking tasks you can make sure that model data is locked at the right time. See an overview of an event workflow as well as information on other ways to change events. To change the event type, you can convert your calendar events. This lets you quickly adapt your calendar events to your changing needs while modelling your workflows. You can export your calendar tasks in the calendar exchange format (iCalendar) to add them to a calendar. Use a wizard in the calendar to generate tasks and processes from an organizational dimension. Access your story or analytic application from the calendar or an email notification, and finish your work from within the story or analytic application. You can show your calendar highlights on the home screen, quickly seeing which tasks or processes are overdue and which are coming due. Automatic data action tasks help you define the start time of your data action. Data actions are a flexible planning tool for making structured changes to model data, including copying data from one model to another. Copy your calendar events to repeat existing settings.
