Copying a Model

If you want to create a new model that's similar to an existing model, you can copy an existing model.

Context

Private dimensions are copied with the model, while public dimensions are referenced from the copied model. Transaction data is copied in all public versions. Private versions are not copied.

Note that models based on BPC data sources can't be copied (either basic models, or models with write-back to BPC enabled).

Procedure

Select (Main Menu) Browse Files.
Select the check box beside the model you want to copy.
If the model can be copied, the copy icon is enabled.
Select (Copy To).
Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
Select the Include Data check box if you want to include fact data in the copied model.
If you clear the check box, only metadata and master data are copied.
Select OK to create the copy.
