Synchronization Point

When planning the maintenance cycle of a maintenance object in SAP SCM, that system creates maintenance demands for the maintenance cycle. When scheduling the corresponding maintenance plan in SAP R/3, that system creates schedule calls.

To transfer planning results from SAP SCM to SAP R/3, the SAP SCM maintenance demands are mapped to the SAP R/3 schedule calls. The synchronization point specifies the schedule call in SAP R/3 to which the first SAP SCM maintenance demand is mapped by using the call number of the schedule call.

The compliance date and base date of the first demand of a maintenance cycle are not calculated by SAP SCM (see Calculation of Due Dates ), but are set from the synchronization point in SAP R/3.
