After picking has been carried out, the results can be reported for delivery items that have been picked, but not for items picked using a WM transfer order.

Reporting Results of Picking

You may report the results of picking in one of two ways:

Reporting Results of Picking in Picking Requests

A picking request contains items to be picked for a particular delivery. Either all items of the delivery are relevant for picking (when the delivery is to be completely picked), or only those items of a delivery for which subsequent picking has been initiated. This means that for one delivery there may be several picking requests that include the various picking quantities of the item at various times. When you print out individual or collective picking lists, the system creates a picking request. The picking request number is printed out on the current picking list and is included in the document flow of the delivery.

Note

If you are using Warehouse Management, the picking requests include only those items that have not been processed using WM transfer orders or using Structure link Lean WM transfer orders.

The results of picking in the picking request are verified automatically when the relevant delivery items have been confirmed in delivery processing (for more information, see Confirming Picking Requests). You can also report the picking results in picking requests in picking. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. In the Shipping screen, choose Picking ® Picking Without Warehouse Management
  2. You see the screen Picking w/o Warehouse Management.

  3. Choose Picking ® Verify.
  4. You see the Reporting Results in Picking Request: Initial Screen.

  5. Enter the delivery number as well as the number of the corresponding picking request.
  6. In the Extras area of the screen, you can specify whether the delivery quantity should automatically agree with the completed picking request and whether or not goods issue should be posted automatically.

  7. Choose Picking request ® Request.
  8. You see the screen Reporting Results in Picking Request: Overview. Here the individual items of the delivery are displayed on an overview screen. You may overwrite the quantity. The batch and valuation type must be entered for the corresponding materials if they have not been already.

If you want to process items with batch split, mark the appropriate items and choose Edit ® Split quantities. A dialog box appears in which you can enter the desired batches and quantities.

  9. Save the picking request.

The results of picking for items in the picking request are reported and confirmed.

The picking request items are confirmed if there is a confirmation requirement for the items.

Reporting the Results of Picking Without Confirmation Requirement

Picking quantities, batches, and valuation types for each picking request are verified back when it contains at least one deviant item (that is, when the picking quantity in the picking request is different from that in the delivery).

Reporting the Results of Picking with Confirmation Requirement

The results of picking must be verified, regardless of whether there are item differences or not. Also, orders that do not have data differences must be reported and confirmed as well. This verification is basically the same as the confirmation of the entire order.

Reporting the Results of Picking Through a Subsystem

You can report results of picking using a special interface in a subsystem (Remote-Function-Call from Function module SD_DELIVERY_UPDATE_PICKING or EDI with ALE Technique). The system proposes an import interface. You can also report picking results using hand-held computers and other such mobile devices used for storing and sending data.

Reporting Results to a Subsystem

It is possible to report a picking request with the ALE Technique to a subsystem. The system proposes an export interface. In this case, you can assign the picking output EKSU to the shipping point.
