Accessing the Business Systems
Use
You use this function to access data in the available
business systems.Business systems are logical systems used within SAP Exchange Infrastructure as either senders or receiver systems. These can be either SAP or non-SAP systems. For example, a business system can be a client in an SAP system or a Java standalone application.
Prerequisites
You have started the
Runtime Workbench from the SAP Exchange Infrastructure start page and have expanded the subnode Business Systems in the Exchange Infrastructure structure on the left-hand side of the screen. For business systems based on SAP Web Application Server 6.20 or higher you must at least specify the
role of the business system (Integration Server or Application System). If it is an application system, then the corresponding Integration Server must be assigned.Features
All available business systems are displayed under the subnode Business Systems.
If the business system is an Integration Server, it is highlighted in bold in the navigation tree. You can select and display each of these components individually.
When you select a business system, the type and the role of the business system is displayed in the window on the right-hand side of the screen. These two pieces of information are specific to SAP Exchange Infrastructure. The remaining information displayed varies depending on whether the business system is an SAP system or a non-SAP system.
Furthermore, the Connections tab page displays the name and the version of the business system and of the corresponding Integration Server, if the business system does not have it’s own Integration Server.
Activities
If data for a business system based on SAP Web Application Server 6.20 is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, then choose Details on the Connections tab page to log on to the system displayed and to call and display detailed information for the system, for example security settings.

To do so, you require a corresponding user for the system concerned.
Enter the user name and password and choose Log On.
If you want to delete an existing connection, the system calls a corresponding wizard. To delete the connection, follow the wizard’s instructions.
