Accessing the Runtime Workbench
You use this function to access data in the Runtime Workbench.
You have started the Runtime Workbench from the SAP Exchange Infrastructure start page and have chosen the component Runtime Workbench in the structure Exchange Infrastructure on the left-hand side of the screen.
The window Runtime Workbench appears on the right-hand side of the screen.
The Runtime Workbench window displays the host name and the port number of the Runtime Workbench. Furthermore, you can query the status of the Runtime Workbench, execute a self-test, and check configuration parameters.
You can execute the following in the Runtime Workbench window:
· To query the current status of the Runtime Workbench, select the tab page Ping and then choose Start Ping.
The status of the component is displayed in the form of a traffic light. The individual statuses (red, yellow, and green) are explained by a corresponding short text.
When the status is OK (green), the name of the component and the vendor are displayed.
· To repeat the status query, choose Repeat Ping.
· To execute an Integration Repository self-test, select the tab page Self-Test and then choose Start Self-Test.
The status of the component is displayed in the form of a traffic light. The individual statuses (red, yellow, and green) are explained by a corresponding short text.
When the status is OK (green), other traffic lights are displayed that always have the status OK. Otherwise, they would not be displayed and the status traffic light would be red or yellow.
· To repeat the self-test, choose Repeat Self-Test.
· To check configuration parameters, on the Configuration Parameters tag page use the input help to select a category of configuration parameters.

The Configuration Parameters tag page is only displayed if the corresponding component is correctly maintained in the System Landscape Directory. If this is not the case, only the Ping and Self-Test tag pages are displayed. If you then choose either Start Ping or Start Self-Test, the system displays a red status traffic light and the message Component not available.
