Item Creation from Item Template 

Use

You use this function to make it easier to create new items. When you create an item from an item template you do not have to enter the data you have already defined for the item template each time you create an item of a similar type.

When you create an item from an item template, all the data is copied except the template name, the template external ID and the global template flag, which are specific only to the template properties. The general data, additional data, financial overview, capacity overview, authorizations, and the notes are copied.

Prerequisites

·        To create a cProjects project when creating an item from an item template, you have to make sure that the item template is mapped to a cProjects template in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM) ® Global Customizing ® Portfolio-Independent Settings ® Map Item Template to cProjects Template.

·        Phases and decision point mapping is done automatically during item creation from a template if the item template decision point and phase template mapping is maintained. You can maintain the mapping of item template decision points to cProjects template phases in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM) ® Global Customizing ® Portfolio-Independent Settings ® Map Item Template to cProjects Template ® Item Template Decision Point to cProjects Phase.
