 Business Process: Use Address-Independent E-mail

 

This business process Customizing (available in both SAP ERP and SAP CRM) provides the flexibility to choose between address-independent or address-dependent e-mail accounts of a business partner, for example, when sending e-mails for password reset, user registration, anonymous meter reading.

The default e-mail sending option is set to address-independent e-mail. If you need to change these settings, you can find the Customizing activity under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Industry-Specific Solutions Next navigation step Utility Industries Next navigation step SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities End of the navigation path. Now, do the following:

  1. Choose process ID 8 and double-click the Settings folder in the Dialog Structure.

  2. Remove X from the Parameter Value to set e-mail preference to address-dependent.

To summarize:

  • Validation is set to address-independent e-mail if AddressIndependent is set to X.

  • Validation is set to address-dependent e-mail if AddressIndependent is “” (blank).
