Installing SAP Business Client for Desktop (Standalone)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

Proceed as follows to install SAP Business Client for Desktop on your computer:

  1. Close all front-end applications.

  2. Open the setup file by double-clicking it in the installation folder.

    If you use Windows 7 or higher, open the context menu of the setup file and choose Run as Administrator....

    The installation wizard opens.

  3. Enter the path to the administrator configuration file.

    Note By default, the following path is entered:

    %APPDATA%\SAP\Common

    Note If you do not have an administrator configuration file, leave this field empty. For more information about the administrator configuration file, see chapter Connection Configuration.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Your desktop now has a shortcut for starting SAP Business Client for Desktop on your computer.

Note To use SAP Logon in parallel to the SAP Business Client, you must enable SAP Logon to work on the new files and format. Therefore, you need to modify the following value either in the Windows Registry editor regedt32.exe or with the NWSAPSetupAdmin.exe tool:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPLogon
