Object Page ViewLocate this document in the navigation structure

The object page allows you to display, edit and create objects, and save drafts. It is suitable for both simple objects and more complex, multi-faceted objects. The object page view offers optimal support for multiple devices.

Example of an object page view (Display mode):

The object page is made up of the following elements:

  • Page title which is set to the object type, for example, product

  • Object header including the following:

    • Title and subtitle

    • Actions (in Display mode)

    • Optional elements, which can include the following:
      • A description

      • An image of the object instance
        Note

If the instance does not provide an image, then the default image of the object type is used.

      • Buttons for use case-specific actions, for example, Edit and Delete

      • Label field pairs, for example, to show an item's most important attributes. We recommend using a maximum of five label field pairs.

  • Anchor navigation area, which allows users to navigate to the individual content area sections

  • Content area, in which data is organized into sections that can contain field groups or a table
  • Footer bar (not shown), in which actions and the Show Messages button (if applicable) are available in Edit mode
