Adding Record Types to an External Application (Automated)
For SAP Fiori fact sheets, a semi-automated procedure allows you to import a single file containing all the required information for multiple record types, or business object types, from the back-end system. You add record types (objects) to your new external application to enable the Share and Discuss features for these business objects in SAP Jam.
Context
In SAP Jam, each record type (object) added to an external application represents a
business object type from the back-end system.
Note This procedure is not available
for SAP Fiori
apps.
Prerequisites
You have generated a JSON file containing the fact sheet information from the ABAP launchpad using report RCBN_SMI_DATA_EXPORT (see Exporting Fact Sheet Information to SAP Jam).
Procedure

In your new external application in SAP Jam, choose
Action 
Manage Record Types 
.
- On the Manage Record Types screen, choose Import.
- On the Import Record Types screen, select the JSON file from the file system, and then select Import.

For each record type created, do the following:
- Choose Edit.
- Choose Check Connection to test the connection.
- Enable Feed History to display the discussion history in the Discuss dialog of the business object type.
