User Personas and Roles for Administrators and End UsersLocate this document in the navigation structure

User Personas

The following user personas are available:

  • End User - A named user who has authorization to access CHIPs of 1:N catalogs. The end user has READ access to the page building services
  • Page Administrator - A named user who has authorization to access CHIPs of 1: N catalogs. The Page administrator has READ/WRITE access to the page building services.

Roles

Based on the roles assigned to the Page Builder administrator, the catalogs are displayed on the administration page. For example, three roles are assigned to the administrator. These roles have the following catalogs associated to them:

  • SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_UI5_1 has the catalog Employee Self-Service assigned to it
  • SAP_PAO_HRPROFESSIONAL_3 has the catalog HR Professional assigned to it
  • SAP_MANAGER_MSS_CR_UI5_1 has the catalog Manager Self-Service assigned to it

In administration page, the catalogs are displayed based on the roles assigned to the administrator. The catalogs displayed on the administration page are Employee Self-Service assigned, HR Professional, and Manager Self-Service as the administrator is assigned to the above three roles.

Based on the roles assigned to the end user, the catalogs are displayed on the Suite Page Builder. For example, two roles are assigned to the user. These roles have the following catalogs associated to them:

  • SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_UI5_1 has the catalog Employee Self-Service assigned to it
  • SAP_PAO_HRPROFESSIONAL_3 has the catalog HR Professional assigned to it
In Suite Page Builder, the catalogs are displayed based on the roles assigned to the user. The catalogs displayed on the Suite Page Builder are Employee Self-Service assignedand HR Professional as the user is assigned to the above two roles.
Note
If you select the Hide Menu from NWBC checkbox, the catalogs linked to the role are not visible for the end user. To check if this checkbox is selected or unselected, proceed as follows:
  1. Go to transaction PFCG and enter the role, for example SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_UI5_1, in the Role field.
  2. Choose Display.

    A Display Roles screen appears.

  3. Navigate to Menu tab and choose Menu Options.

    A Menu Options dialog box appears.

  4. In the Runtime Filter section, check if the Hide Menu from NWBC is unselected.

    If the Hide Menu from NWBC checkbox is selected, you have to unselect the checkbox by choosing the role, for example SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_UI5_1, in the change mode.
