What's New in SAP Fiori LaunchpadLocate this document in the navigation structure

Several new and changed features are available with SAP Fiori launchpad.

End User Feedback (New)

You can now allow end users to give feedback about an SAP Fiori app and the SAP Fiori launchpad in general

Tile Actions (New)

A new button has been added to the launchpad allowing users to enter action mode. When in action mode, clicking or tapping on a tile displays the available actions for that tile. You create actions in the Launchpad Designer, and enable the feature using launchpad configuration parameters.

Locked Groups (New)

You can now lock groups to prevent end users from removing or editing the group.

Cache Busting (New)

You can now invalidate resources in client caches for the SAP Fiori launchpad and SAP Fiori apps.

A new report on the front-end server is available for you to invalidate resources of SAP Fiori apps in client caches.

Customizing the Launchpad URL (New)

You can now customize the URL of the SAP Fiori launchpad by creating an external alias.

Launchpad Content Checks (Changed)
The report Fiori Launchpad Checks (transaction /UI2/FLC) now offers the following additional features:
  • Check to which authorization role the content is assigned and if a given user is assigned to this role
  • Filter for content assigned to a given user

Assigning Tile Catalogs to Roles (Changed)

The checkbox Read Authorization Defaults is now available in the Assign Tile Catalog dialog box for Fiori Launchpad Catalogs.

This option allows you to check which applications are used in the selected catalog and which authorizations are required to run them. Using this information, you can generate the PFCG profile and determine the authorizations needed to run the applications.

Extending the Launchpad (Changed)

APIs are provided for adding an item to, or removing the added item from, the Options menu.
