Setting Up the bgRFC DestinationLocate this document in the navigation structure

You set up the destination for the background remote function call (bgRFC) on the SAP Gateway server. This allows you to process file uploads in the background when users share attachments in SAP Jam.

Context

Note No success or failure message is available on the UI for the end user after the upload is complete. Users must check SAP Jam to ensure that the file was properly uploaded.

Prerequisites

You have defined a supervisor destination on the SAP Gateway server. For more information, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/nw. Under System Administration and Maintenance Information, choose Technical Operations for SAP NetWeaver and search for bgRFC Configuration.

Procedure

  1. On the SAP Gateway server, run transaction SBGRFCCONF.
  2. Choose the Define Inbound Destination tab.
  3. Create a new inbound destination, entering SMI_FILE_BGRFC as the inbound destination name.
  4. Complete the remaining fields as required.
  5. Save your entries.
  6. Register the new background RFC destination in view CLB2V_PLATF for each relevant target server (see Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Start of the navigation path UI Technologies Next navigation step SAP Jam Integration Next navigation step Define Server Settings End of the navigation path).

Results

You have set up the inbound destination for the bgRFC that is required for sharing attachments in SAP Jam.
