This section describes how to set up SAP Jam as a trustworthy system in the back end.

Prerequisites

You have downloaded and registered the certificate of SAP Jam.

Note

Depending on your browser, the download procedure may vary. For more information, see the online help of the respective browser.

Currently, SAP Jam supports the following web browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 to 11
  • Mozilla Firefox - All versions
  • Safari 5
  • Google Chrome - All versions

Download and register the certificate of your service provider SAP Jam as follows:

  1. Go to the SAP Jam web site using the browser of your choice.
  2. View your SSL certificate and navigate to the self-signed root certificate authority (CA).
  3. To export the certificate to a base64-encoded file, select the Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) option as the format for the export file.
Note

You can choose whether you want to use a client certificate or a consumer application certificate. We recommend the consumer application certificate as it has a longer validity:

  • The client certificate is valid for 3 years.
  • The consumer application certificate is valid for 10 years.

You can use dialog report SSF_ALERT_CERTEXPIRE to check the validity period of your certificate. The report allows you to display warnings in good time before the expiration of the validity of installed certificates. For more information, see the system documentation of this report.

Context

In this step, you set up the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) channel.

Procedure

  1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver, choose Start of the navigation path UI Technologies Next navigation step SAP Jam Integration> Next navigation step Maintain Certificate of Service Provider End of the navigation path (or run transaction STRUST).
The Trust Manager screen appears. In the Dialog Structure, you see the entry for the client Anonymous SSL - channel.
Note The name - in this case SSL client SSL Client (Anonymous) - may be slightly different in your system, since it can be named individually during creation.
  2. In the Dialog Structure, double-click SSL client SSL Client (Anonymous).
  3. Click Import Certificate.
  4. In the dialog, open the certificate file you saved to a file as described in the Prerequisites section.
The file appears in the Certificate group box.
  5. Click Add to Certificate List.
The SAP Jam certificate file appears in the Certificate List group box.
  6. Save your entries.

You have imported the HTTPS certificate and set up SAP Jam as a trustworthy system.
