Error Handling and Logging (Changed)
A log is now written for errors occuring when entities in the launchpad designer (e.g. catalogs or tiles) are created, updated, or deleted. The log number is communicated to the end user of the launchpad designer and can be used for a detailed error analysis in the UI services application log (object /UI2/BE).

In addition, error messages in the launchpad designer were improved.

For more information, see Message Logging for Launchpad and Launchpad Designer and Launchpad Designer.

Improvements for Catalogs - Tiles (New)

In addition to the existing view for catalogs, there is a new list view that displays tiles in a table with sortable columns. Also, you can now do a where-used check for a tile and delete tiles.

Before you delete a tile, a where-used check is carried out. The check ensures the following:

  • The tile is not referenced by a tile in another catalog

  • The tile is not used in a group

The view provides the following options:

  • Configure

Allows you to make configuration settings for the tile, such as navigation details and tile actions.

  • Create Reference

    Creates a reference tile.

This button is equivalent to the Copy icon in the grid view.

  • Delete

Allows you to delete a tile as long as it is not used anywhere.

  • Where-Used

Provides a check whether the tile is still used anywhere.

    Note

The where-used check is done whenever you try to delete a tile. You can, however, ignore the warning and still delete the tile, but this is not a recommended procedure.

Improvements for Catalogs - Target Mappings (New)

In the target mapping table, you can show or hide columns and change their order by selecting Configure Columns. You can also change the column order using drag and drop. These settings remain active even for other catalogs or when you restart the SAP Fiori Launchpad designer.

Sorting can be done by right-clicking the column titles in the table.

Additional columns with information from the LPD_CUST transaction have also been included here.

Also, you can now do a where-used check for a target mapping and delete target mappings. Before you delete a target mapping, a where-used check is carried out. The check ensures the target mapping is not referenced by another target mapping.

The table provides the following new options:

  • Create Reference

    Creates a reference target mapping.

    Note

This button was formerly called Copy.

  • Where-Used

Provides a check whether the target mapping is still used anywhere.

    Note

The where-used check is done whenever you try to delete a target mapping. You can, however, ignore the warning and still delete the target mapping, but this is not a recommended procedure.

Improvements for Settings

In addition to transport request numbers, you can also see their descriptions now in the Assign Transport Request popup.
