You set up an external application in SAP Jam to bring business objects from an external
system such as SAP CRM into SAP Jam. The integration between these systems is done using SAP Gateway.
Context
In your SAP Jam instance, you must register the SAP Gateway service to set up the
integration.
Procedure
-
Log on to SAP Jam as a company admin.
-
From the Admin menu, choose External
Applications.
-
Add a new external application for your OData provider. This should be the
connected SAP Gateway system.
-
Enter a name according to your system naming conventions.
-
Select SAP NetWeaver Gateway as the application
type.
Note You can use common user authentication for testing and prototyping
purposes, but to ensure system security, do not use it in a production
environment.
-
Select Per User Authentication.
-
Enter the root certificate of your SAP Gateway hub system in
the Trusted Certificate Authorities field for the new
application by displaying the SSL certificate in your browser, and navigating to
the root certificate authority (CA) certificate. Then do the following:
-
Export the certificate to a base64-encoded file.
-
On the External Applications page, select
Trusted Certificate Authorities.
-
Paste the base64-encoded root CA certificate into the text box and
select Submit.
Note The SAPNet CA must not be used for external communication. Define any other CA in your
SAP Gateway
system.
Results
You have added an external application to SAP Jam and established the connection between
SAP Gateway and SAP Jam.
You can now add record types (objects) to this external application that represent the
business objects you wish to share or discuss in SAP Jam.
