CO-OM-ABC: Business Process Quantities and Prices

Use
This InfoCube contains all business processes for which planned and actual quantities have been entered and prices determined, and this data loaded from the source system or systems. This InfoCube contains the associated quantity information on activities, scheduled activities, output, and capacity. It also contains the price information (with and without cost components) and the associated base quantities for the prices.
The InfoCube contains two types of data records that differ in their key figures: business process quantities and business process prices.
Using this data, you can ensure consistent process planning in your company, and create and verify an activity-based budget.
This InfoCube also supplies data for benchmarking, which in turn can provide information that supports make-or-buy decisions.
It also supports the determination of fair prices for shared services.
In sum, this information enables you to verify and optimize your process model.

Prerequisites in the SAP R/3 System
Before you can transfer actual prices into the BW, you need to calculate the actual prices .

Queries
The titles of the Queries provide information on the contents and intended users. "Range" Queries supply data on multiple objects, while "Detail" Queries supply more specific information. "Analysis" queries are intended for cost management specialists. The other queries are intended for supervisors such as process managers.

Loading Behavior
The InfoCube is fed from the two InfoSources 0CO_OM_ABC_2 and 0CO_OM_ABC_4.
To keep the data to a minimum that is loaded into the BW, you should use the following characteristics to restrict the selection:
0CURTYPE Currency type
0VTYPE Value type for reporting
Each time you upload data, the system adds it to the existing values. You should therefore delete any existing values before repeating an upload.
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you load an InfoPackage (using certain characteristics, for example, FISCPER; selected dataset) for each posting period, once periodic tasks are complete. This has the advantage that you do not need to delete as much data when you reload. InfoPackages that are already complete can be retained.
The contents of InfoCube CO-OM-ABC: Primary Cost Component Split (Old Version) supplied in older releases is now part of this InfoCube.
InfoSource 0CO_OM_ABC_4 Business Processes: Prices supplies data records for prices both with and without cost components. This does not require any special settings when you load the InfoCube.
Even if no cost component split is available, a data record with cost component split is nevertheless updated (with cost component = 0)
. You can therefore define your reports for prices with cost components even when no cost component splits are available. This report always produces the correct business process price in total across all cost components (see also
Restricted Key Figures
).
If you want to fill the new InfoCube with cost component data from an older InfoCube, create an InfoPackage for the corresponding InfoSource, 0CO_OM_ABC_4 Business Processes: Prices , and load your legacy data for the desired time frame.
Note that the price is no longer scaled to a price unit base quantity (base quantity for price) of 1 as it was previously. Instead the price is loaded for the actual base quantity. To get the scaled price as before, you must divide the price by the base quantity in your reports.
