Dates/Times in Freight Order Management
The table below contains an overview and explanation of all the dates/times used in freight order management. Since the names of dates/times may vary on the user interfaces, only examples are used here.
Dates/Times | Meaning |

Acceptable dates/times | Time window for pick-up at the customer and time window for delivery at the customer. For more information, see Time Windows. |
Requested dates/times | Time window for pick-up at the customer and time window for delivery at the customer. For more information, see Time Windows. |
Appointment | Time window for pick-up at the customer and time window for delivery at the customer (in the freight order, for example). For more information, see Appointment. |
Planned departure and arrival dates/times | Planned departure date/time and planned arrival date/time. For example, in the freight order this is the departure date/time at the source location and the arrival date/time at the destination location. |
Loading/coupling times | Time window for loading and time window for unloading or time window for coupling and time window for uncoupling. In the freight unit these are the loading and unloading dates/times. In the trailer unit these are the coupling and uncoupling dates/times. |
Loading times (cargo) | Time window for loading and time window for unloading the assigned cargo (in a freight order, for example). |
Coupling times (trailer/railcar) | Time window for coupling and time window for uncoupling the trailers or railcars assigned in the freight order or in the rail freight order. |
Cut-off dates/times | The latest date/time by which cargo or documents have to be accepted. In an ocean freight booking, for example, this is the date/time by which the cargo has to be delivered to the port of loading. |
Availability dates/times | The earliest date/time as of which cargo or documents have to be available. In an ocean freight booking, for example, this is the earliest date/time as of which the cargo is available at the port of discharge. |
Dates/times confirmed by carrier | An appointment confirmed by the carrier. For example, the start and end date confirmed by the carrier are displayed in the road freight order. |
