You use this procedure to create and modify step loops in the alphanumeric mode of the Screen Painter.
The elements that form the loop already exist. Valid objects are templates, text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes and pushbuttons.
The Change Loop Definition screen appears.
You can create several separate loop blocks on one screen, but nesting is not allowed.
The system automatically generates a fixed loop block with two repetitions. You can now edit the step loop or choose Back to return to the full-screen editor.
The following functions for editing a step loop are available:
Function | Description |
---|---|
End line of loop |
Defines the length of the loop area |
Variable loop |
Defines a variable loop. The system uses variable loops to dynamically adjust the number of repetitions to the size of the current window. If the screen includes several loop blocks, you can define only one of them as variable. The maximum number of lines is 200. The system always stores the current number of loop blocks in the system field SY-LOOPC. |
Dissolve |
Dissolves the loop |
Move loop |
Moves the loop to a new location. |
In the definition block you can change element attributes, define or delete elements but you cannot insert or delete lines within the loop block. You can copy elements from outside to the loop block and vice versa. In both cases, the system adapts the element attributes accordingly.
