Determining the Text Key Structure 

Use

In the SAP system, there is no uniform rule for the structure of the actual text key Textname. However, in order to be able to maintain the structures and fields, you have to know what the structure of text name as well as the values for text object and text ID are.

Procedure

...

       1.      Display a text of the required text type.

       2.      Branch to the editor.

       3.      Choose Goto ® Header.
The Text header dialog box appears.

Result

In the Text header dialog box, you gather the required information.

 

You want to determine the structure of the text key for material sales texts:

...

       1.      From the SAP system main menu, choose Logistics ® Materials management ® Material master.
A screen appears.

       2.      Choose Material ® Display material ® Display current.
A screen appears.

       3.      Enter data as required.

       4.      Choose Enter.
A dialog box appears.

       5.      Select Sales text.

       6.      Choose Continue.
A dialog box appears.

       7.      Enter data as required.

       8.      Choose Continue.
A screen appears.

       9.      Double-click on one of the texts.
The editor appears.

   10.      Choose Goto ® Header.
The Text header dialog box appears.

 

In this dialog box, you can find the following information:

 

Text name	Material number (length 18) Sales organization (length 04) Distribution channel (length 02)
Language	Text language
Text ID	0001
Text object	MVKE
