Workflow Builder Options
You find the options in the Extras menu of the Workflow Builder.
The options can be subdivided on the following tab pages:
You make the following settings on this tab page:
Choose whether the graphical or tree variant should be shown as the modeling view.
The tree view is compatible with all versions of the SAP GUI and displays the Workflow as a hierarchy. This modeling view is used automatically if the graphical modeling view is not available.
Choose which view is used for display in the graphical modeling view:
· Without event-driven process chains (NoEPCs)
All steps, triggering events and the workflow start and end are displayed using symbols. Outcomes are displayed in text on the connecting lines.
· Event-driven process chains (EPCs)
All triggering events, outcomes, steps and operators are displayed. Steps are displayed as green rectangles, triggering events and outcomes as red hexagons and operators as circles. The step name is displayed in the graphical symbols.
· Classic event-driven process chains (ClassicEPCs)
All triggering events, outcomes, steps and operators are displayed. Steps are displayed as green rectangles, triggering events and outcomes as red hexagons and operators as circles. The node number and the node type are displayed with the step name in the graphical symbols. The step type area is not displayed.
Choose whether a block display is used in the graphical modeling view: Various technical or professional interconnections of steps are displayed graphically in a block display. There you can choose between the following variants:
· No blocks
Deactivates the block display. The icons for blocks that you have defined using the Block step type continued to be displayed, however.
· Technical groups
The individual blocks that make up the workflow definition can be displayed using various gray scales. Nested blocks are represented with darker gray scales. Blocks on the same level have the same gray shadowing.
The blocks each have a heading derived from the name of their first step and displayed in a different color in the upper-left part of the block. For more information, see Block Orientation in the Workflow Definition.
· Customer specific groups
The blocks show the assignment of the individual steps to the various customer-specific groupings. You can enter these in the step definition on the Change data tab page.
· User-specific groups
The blocks show which user last made changes at which step.
Choose whether the tips and tricks are to be displayed when the Workflow Builder is started. You can also display it directly by using the tips and tricks pushbutton.
If the indicator is set, information on the progress of the execution is displayed in the status row for functions with a longer execution time (for example, checking or activating a workflow, execution of a workflow wizard) .
Choose whether the workflow system elements are displayed in the workflow container tray.
You make the following settings on this tab page:
Choose whether simplified modeling is to be used initially (see also: Top-Down Modeling).
Choose if an undefined step is also to be generated after all outcomes when creating a step.
In the graphical modeling view, the relevant node numbers for all of the nodes shown by a symbol are displayed in the workflow area of the Workflow Builder. In the NoEPC view this only affects the steps and in the EPC views all steps, outcomes, and operators. A more simple assignment is possible for the technical analysis by using the node number.
Choose whether it is possible to store Workflow fragments in the background, which can then be inserted in the Workflow in different positions by using Drag&Drop, for example.
Select which object type category is first to be offered for selection in the Workflow Builder.
Here you determine if the technical name or the normal name is to be used first for display of the names, for example, of container elements in the binding editor. You can change the display within the tools at any time.
Select which step types are not to be offered to you for modeling in the step type area. If the step type Document from template is no longer displayed, the tray Document templates is also not displayed.
