Procedure documentationReminding Users About Unprocessed Work Items  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You have the option of notifying users if they have not processed a work item after a specific number of days, as explained in the example below:

Example

You have defined a subscription that notifies the responsible agents about work items for the approval of purchase orders. If the agent does not approve or refuse a purchase order within two days, the notification is sent again. You define a reminder after two days in the subscription for this purpose.

You have the option of structuring the reminder message differently to the original message. For example, the original message might group together multiple work items while a separate message is sent for each work item in the case of a reminder (see also: Example: Notifications for Leave Requests).

Reminder and Selection

The status of a notification is determined during the selection. If the relevant work item has been processed, it is given the status Logically Deleted. This status denotes that no reminder needs to be sent. You must define the schedule for the selection so that a selection is performed prior to the reminder, which determines the current status of the notification, as explained in the following example.

Example

You have defined that a reminder is sent after one day. However, the selection is only executed once every two days. In this case it is possible that a work item has been processed but the notification does not yet have the status logically deleted. This means that a reminder is sent even though the work item has already been processed.

Procedure

...

       1.      Open the subscription in the administration application.

       2.      On the Message tab page in the Reminder After X Days field, enter the number of days after which the message is to be resent.

       3.      In the selection, check the details on the Schedule tab page.
