Function documentation Version-Dependent Basic Data for a Workflow  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can process the basic data of the workflow definition by selecting Basic Data (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) in the Workflow Builder. The version-dependent basic data only to the current version of the workflow definition.

Features

Control tab page
Workflow settings tab page

This tab page shows the current uses of the workflow. You can specify whether your workflow is a checklist, a review workflow, or an insertable ad hoc workflow. The workflow system sets all the other indicators automatically.

Agents tab page

Here you define the system administrator for this workflow. If you do not specify an administrator, the relevant entry in the SAP Business Workflow IMG is used instead. You edit this entry in the IMG by choosing SAP Web Application Server ® Business Management ® SAP Business Workflow ® Basic Settings (Workflow System) ® Maintain Administration Data for Workflow Builder. If no entry is also available there, the workflow initiator becomes the system administrator of the relevant workflow.

You can also define a standard recipient for all missed deadlines. This party is notified if the following apply:

·        The workflow definition is used as a subworkflow.

·        A monitored deadline is activated in the step definition, but no recipient is entered.

For more information, see Defining Responsibilities.

Reviewer tab page

Here you can enter a review workflow if the execution of this workflow is to be checked by a user authorized to do so. This can start the review workflow from the graphical workflow log and thus, for example, create attachments in the workflow to be checked. The workflow entered must be marked as the review workflow in its basic data. For more information, see Review Workflow.

Notification tab page

Here you define the message recipient for completion of the workflow. This party is notified if the workflow is used as a subworkflow and there is no recipient specified in the task definition. Upon completion of the workflow, the text you can edit here is sent as an e-mail.

Note

A change to this text is valid for all versions. You can also edit this text in the version-independent basic data on the Description tab page.

For more information, see Defining Responsibilities.

WebFlow tab page
Events Tab Page

Here you can define events for objects of the workflow, for which the following reactions are possible:

·        The workflow is terminated and set to status Logically deleted.

·        All conditions for starting and ending a work item are rechecked.

·        The workflow is terminated and set to status Logically deleted. The workflow is then restarted. The current values of the canceled workflow are entered as import elements in the workflow container.

·        The recipients of all the work items that have not been terminated are redefined, and the rules for determining agents are repeated.

·        A wait step can wait for the event like a receiver.

·        A local event is triggered.

Local events tab page

Here you can define local events. A local event only exists within the Workflow. You can use local event as a kind of “signal“ to control the Workflow, for example, to synchronize parallel Workflow branches or to start a local Workflow.

A local event can be:

·        An exception that is triggered by a process control step.

You define the exception handler in the block.

·        A local event that is triggered by an event creator step or an event.

You can use a local event to start a local Workflow. Furthermore, a wait step can wait for a local event.

Programmer Exits tab page
Properties tab page

You can enter freely definable text here and assign it a value. You can use these properties in your programmer exits.

SAP also provides workflow system properties, whose names are determined. For this, you can only edit the values. Thus the workflow runtime can be controlled or provided with additional data. The length of the value is unrestricted.

Tab Page Tasks

On this tab page you define the tasks for the ad-hoc anchor. These tasks are valid for all ad-hoc anchors of the Workflow.

Technical information tab page

General data about the workflow is displayed here. The version number of the version being processed in the original development system is displayed in the Original version field. If a workflow is transported into another system, in which workflows are already running for this definition, the version numbers are reconciled.

Change Data Tab Page

This displays all the data for entering, changing, and activating the workflow definition.
