The durability period of the material (from time of receipt to the expiration date).

The shelf life that is defined in the product master, is copied over to all product receipts (production order, stock transfer order,...) that have been generated by APO or transferred to the OLTP system without a maturity data specification.

The shelf life of a product receipt is taken into account during pegging. It is then only possible for a product receipt to meet a product demand, if the shelf life requirement of the demand is covered by the shelf life of the receipt.

Shelf life also includes the maturity date.

The shelf life of a product is then only taken into account, if the key figure "Planning with reference to product shelf life" has been set.
