Technical name: 0PAOS_C01
Use
The InfoCube Staffing Assignments (0PAOS_C01) contains all of the transaction data determined by the source system(s) for staffing assignments. The Staffing Assignments InfoSource (0HR_PA_OS_1) provides the data in the InfoCube.
The InfoCube contains the general key figures Number of Occupied Positions (0POS_OCC), Number of Unoccupied Positions (0POS_FRE), Number of Vacant Unoccupied Positions (0POS_VAC), Occupied Positions FTE (0POSOCFTE), Unoccupied Positions FTE (0POSFRFTE), Vacant Unoccupied Positions FTE (0POSVCFTE), Number of Vacant Occupied Positions (0POS_OCCVAC), Vacant Occupied Positions FTE (0POSOVCFTE), Number of Positions (0POS_COUNT), Positions FTE (0POS_CNTFTE), and Span of Control of a Position (0POS_CTSPAN). Restricted key figures are also provided. As well as these key figures, the InfoCube contains numerous Organizational Management characteristics that can be used for evaluations.
The following time dimensions are available to help you in your evaluations: calendar year (0CALYEAR), calendar year/month (0CALMONTH), calendar year/quarter (0CALQUARTER), calendar month (0CALMONTH2), quarter (0CALQUART1), and last posted month (current calendar year) (0CYMONTH).
For more information on the InfoCube’s technical elements (characteristics, time characteristics, and so on) see the list below.
A number of structures or templates are provided with the InfoCube in the standard system. These structures contain the key figures in combination with certain calculation rules. The templates give you swift and easy access to frequently used evaluation structures (such as Comparison of Previous/Current Year). The results are displayed as either absolute or percentage values.
In the update rules, fields are imported from the master data tables and written into the InfoCube as a characteristic. Therefore, you must ensure that master data is loaded and activated before the InfoSources.

0HR PA OS 1: Staffing AssignmentCharacteristics
You can display the available navigation attributes of a characteristic if you position the cursor on the characteristic in question and right click Properties.
The Age in Years characteristic (0AGE) contains an employee’s age at the end of a period. You can define an age hierarchy according to the specific requirements of your enterprise, and then display the age structure of your enterprise, for example. To enable you to perform age-based calculations, the system includes the 0AGE_KYF key figure.

Notes on InfoCube:
General
Staffing assignment specifies the percentage to which a position is occupied. If, for example, a person works in a position for 25% of their weekly working time, 10 of their 40 hours, for example, and the planned working time for the position is 20 hours, the position is 50% occupied.
Characteristics
The characteristic Age in Years (0AGE) is a calculated characteristic. It contains the employee’s age at the end of a period. You can define an age hierarchy according to the specific requirements of your enterprise, and then display the age structure of your enterprise, for example.
The age characteristic is calculated using update rules at the end of a period. The period depends on the InfoSource from which it is taken. For example, the end of the period can be at the end of a calendar day or month.
Attributes
Full-time positions or FTE (full-time equivalents) can be used as additional attributes of a position.
With the FTE, the planned working time for the position can be linked to the standard working time in the organizational unit that the position is assigned to (including the inheritance logic of the general working time in the organizational unit).
For example, if the standard working time is 40 hours a week, and the planned working time for the position is 20 hours a week, this represents an FTE of 0.5. If the planned working time is 40 hours, then the position has an FTE value of 1.
If there is no working time specified for the position, it has an FTE value of 1.
Restricted Key Figures
Restricted key figures are derived from InfoCube key figures by filtering one or more InfoCube characteristics. This results in the following restricted key figures:
Hierarchies
SAP delivers age in years hierarchies in a CSV file. However, you can also define hierarchies for the Age in Years characteristic (0AGE). You can determine intervals within the structure as required, for example, in five-year intervals (25 - 29 years, 30 - 34 years, etc.) Therefore, the age structure that you define yourself offers advantages over the fixed age structure of the Age Range characteristic (0AGE_RANGE).
For example, you can use the hierarchy to display the age structure of your enterprise as follows:
< 20 [ ] x < 20
20 - 24 [ ] 20 £ x £ 24
25 - 29 [ ] 25 £ x £ 29
30 - 34 [ ] 30 £ x £ 34
35 - 39 [ ] 35 £ x £ 39
…
If you want to upload the hierarchy using the CSV file provided by SAP, proceed as follows:
Update Rules
In the update rules, numerous fields are read from the master data tables at the end of the period (usually the last day of the month) and written to the InfoCube as characteristics. Therefore, you must ensure that master data is loaded and activated before the InfoSources.
Structures
If structures include references to periods of time, the periods of time are represented by text variables (&0T_CYEAR&, &0T_CQUAT&) in the structure and preview. The appropriate values (calendar years, calendar quarters) are generated automatically when the queries are executed.
Example:
In the Comparison Previous Year / Current Year structure (0QT_PARC_001), the &0T_CYEAR& text variable is used for the "previous year" and "current year". When the query is executed, the text variable is replaced by the appropriate calendar years, that is, "previous year" is replaced by "1998", for example, and "current year" by "1999".
In the 4-Quarter Comparison (0QT_PARC_008) and Average 4 Quarters (0QT_PARC_009) structures, the basis of the calculation starts with the last complete quarter because it has complete values. For example, if a query compares 4 quarters and is started in the second quarter of 1999, the values of the 4 previous quarters - 1/99, 4/98, 3/98, and 2/98 - are compared.
