A combination of ledgers for the purpose of applying the functions and processes of general ledger accounting to the group as a whole.

The value "empty" (SPACE) is the initial ledger group that contains all ledgers that were defined within the same company code. The balance of the accounts within this ledger group is always the same as the balance of the open items.
