Tasks

The production planner is responsible for the conversion of the planning data from the superior supply chain (for example, from the production manager) within a plant or several subordinate production areas / lines.

The production planner ensures that the plant schedule is transparent. He coordinates the use of the plant's resources such as machines/lines, material, and personnel with the goal of requirements coverage that is as complete as possible and on schedule. For this, he breaks down the specifications to plant-level conditions and checks them according to availability and costs. He adjusts any deviations from the plan with production management.

A production planner has the following main tasks:
