Function documentationAssignment of Migration Parameters in the Execution Plan

 

Execution plan-level parameters allow you to set migration criteria for a project at the migration solution level. Doing so enables the automatic assignment of the parameter values to the relevant activities in the migration process tree.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a migration project based on the project template for your migration solution.

  • You have ensured that the settings of the project template parameters allow the use of interfaces on a project level.

  • You have defined a TDMS system landscape.

Features

  • While defining parameters, you are required to select interfaces.

  • You can upload or download data or maintain the data manually at the project level or at the execution plan step level.

  • For certain interfaces, you can validate the correctness of the parameter values.

Activities

  1. Open a project and switch to the edit mode.

  2. Choose Edit in the Parameters column.

    A new window Step Parameters opens for the migration solution assigned to the project.

  3. Select the interface for which you want to assign values to the related parameters and choose the Edit Values hyperlink.

  4. On the dialog box that appears, you may have to assign the system landscape to a few interfaces or parameters.

  5. Select each migration parameter and assign a value to the parameter in the right of the dialog box.

  6. You can also assign values to the parameters by uploading data from a local file.

  7. Select the Use check box to indicate that the parameter values defined at the execution plan step level override the parameter values defined at the activity level.

  8. Choose Check to validate the parameter values.

  9. Save the execution plan level parameter settings.

    Example Example

    Select the TDMS BPL interface. Choose the Edit Values hyperlink.

    In the Parameter Data section, enter a value in the low value field for a table name and field name combination.

    Choose Check and close the window. SAP TDMS sets the entered value as the parameter value for migration packages in your project.
