You can save a report to your private or to a group set, and possibly a public set if you have the correct permissions.

Prerequisites

If you are a member of an application group with Save Public privileges, you can save a report to a public set and make it available to all users. If you do not have Save Public privileges, then you can save reports to private or application group sets and make them available to you or to other groups, respectively.

Features

You can do the following when saving a report:

  • You can save the report to a new name using Save As. Or, you can save the report to an existing report name and overwrite that report with your changes using Save changes to current report.

The name can be alphanumeric. You cannot use special characters in a report name, such as an asterisk (*), slash (/), exclamation point (!) or pipe (|).

  • You can provide a report description of the report in the Report Description box. The description displays in a box in the Choose Report panel when you select this report.

  • You can specify whether to save the report to a private set, to a group set, or to a public set (if you have permission to do so) using the options in the Save for drop-down list.

If you save for Myself Only (Private), only you can display, edit, rename, or delete this report or set. If you save for Group: <set>, the report is available to all members in the application group. If you save for All users (Public), the report is available to all users. The All users (Public) option is available only if your administrator set up Save Public permissions for your group.

  • Save the report to an existing set selected in the drop-down list. Or, save the report to a new set using Create New Set in the drop-down list.

You cannot use the asterisk (*), slash (/), or exclamation point (!) in a set name.

  • Depending on the type of template you are using, you can set the report to use the latest date for which there is data every time you open the report using Always display the latest date. Or, you can set the report to display the same end date every time you open the report by deselecting Always display the latest date.

    Note Note

If you applied the Override Latest Date setting in the Time section, it is temporary for the current session. When saving a report, the setting for Always display latest date always has the ultimate control over whether the report is saved with an end date or the latest date.

    End of the note.
  • The report is automatically saved to the Reports list in the Choose Report panel. Users can access this report immediately. Reports and sets are organized alphabetically.
