What You Need to Know |
|---|---|---|
Get the status of all initiatives, all objectives, and all KPIs |
Review the All Initiatives line, the All Objectives line, and the All KPIs line respectively. |
None |
Go to the Initiatives component with a view that displays all initiatives for this context |
On the All Initiatives line, click <num> Initiatives |
None |
Go to the Initiatives component with a view that displays only the initiatives that are behind schedule |
On the All Initiatives line, click <num> behind schedule |
An initiative’s schedule status is based on the schedule status of its milestones and sub-milestones. If any of the initiative’s milestones are behind schedule, the initiative is considered behind schedule and is colored red. If all of the initiatives milestones are either on schedule or ahead of schedule, or if all the milestones are on time, these initiatives are not included in this number and are not included in the filtered view of the Initiatives component. |
Go to the Initiatives component with a view that displays only the initiatives that are over budget |
On the All Initiatives line, click <num> over budget |
An initiative is considered over budget if its actual number is greater than its budget number. These numbers are defined for the initiative when it is created. If an initiative’s actual is less than budget, if an initiative’s actual is equal to budget, or if an initiative’s actual and budget values are both 0 or empty values (i.e., there is no cost associated with this initiative), these initiatives are not included in the Initiatives component’s filtered view and also are not included in the <num> Initiatives count in My Performance Summary. |
Go to the Objectives view in the Scorecard component with a view that displays all objectives for this context |
On the All Initiatives line, click <num> Objectives |
Objectives with no KPI assignments are displayed in the Objectives view of the Scorecard component but are not included in the <num> Objectives count in My Performance Summary. |
Go to the Objectives view in the Scorecard component with a view that displays only the objectives below target |
On the All Initiatives line, click <num> below target |
How the objective’s KPI statuses are indexed, calculated, and weighted for the objective determines the objective's status. Objectives that are below target have underlying KPIs that are below target. |
Go to the Scorecard Overviews view in the Scorecard component with a view that displays all KPIs for this context |
On the All KPIs line, click <num> KPIs |
None |
Go to the Scorecard Overviews view in the Scorecard component with a view that displays only the KPIs below target |
On the All KPIs line, click <num> below target |
The performance of each KPI is determined by its score value, that is, the deviation of the KPI’s actual to target values. For more information, see Standard KPI. |
Go to the Scorecard Overviews view in the Scorecard component with a view that displays only the KPIs that have a downward trend |
On the All KPIs line, click <num> trending down |
The trend of each KPI is determined by its gap performance value, and where that number lies in a range of values that represent upward trends, stable trends, and downward trends. For more information, see Standard KPI. |
Select particular initiatives, objectives, and KPIs to monitor |
Click Edit. Then, in the Performance Summary dialog box, select the items you want to monitor and click >> to add them to the selected list. |
The My Initiatives, My Objectives, and My KPIs sections appear with the list of selected items depending on what you selected. |
Review My Initiatives if displayed |
None |
The My Initiatives section shows each selected initiative with its performance status (if a status has been applied to the initiative), schedule status, and budget status. For rules about how the schedule status and budget status are determined, see the discussion above about the All Initiatives line. You can click the initiative name to go to the Initiatives component with a view that displays the initiative selected. |
Review My Objectives if displayed |
None |
The My Objectives section shows each selected objective with its performance status. An objective's status is determined by the statuses of the underlying KPIs. The status indicator is can be between three or five colors ranging from green, to yellow to red. Dark green represents a performance well above expectations, green is above expectations, yellow represents steady results, red is below expectations, and dark red is well below expectations. How the objective’s KPI statuses are indexed, calculated, and weighted for the objective determines the objective's status. For more information, see Objectives. You can click the objective name to go to the Objective Details view in the Scorecard component which displays details about this objective. For information, see Objective Details. |
Review My KPIs if displayed |
None |
The My KPIs section shows each selected KPI with its performance status and trend status. A KPI’s status is determined by its score value, which is the deviation between its actual and target values. The KPI’s score is matched to a number in the color index, and the corresponding color becomes the KPI’s status indicator color. A KPI’s trend represents the gap performance value for this KPI and where that value lies within the range of high and low trend expectations. The trend indicator is a black arrow pointing up or down, or a solid black line. An upward arrow means that the trend is rising, a downward arrow means that the trend is moving down, and a flat line represents that the trend is stable. If a KPI does not display a trend indicator, it means that there is no trend data for the KPI. For information, see Standard KPI. You can click the KPI name to display details about this KPI in the KPI Details view in the Scorecard component. For information, see KPI Details. |
