Procedure documentationMoving Objects Manually Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can manually move an object.

Note Note

In Design Manually mode, perspectives are associated with objectives. If you move an objective, the perspective resizes to accommodate the new position of the objective. If you move a perspective, all the objectives within that perspective move with it.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

You are in either Design Manually or Custom Image mode.

To work with objects and not arrows, make sure the arrow button is off. Or, make sure   Tools   Insert Arrows   is not selected.

Procedure

  1. (Optional) If you want to snap the shapes to a grid, choose Format and then choose Snap to Grid.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To move a single object, select it and then drag and drop it into place.

    • To move multiple objects, select the first object you want to move, then press SHIFT and click to select the other objects you want to move at the same time

  3. Drag all objects to the new location.

Note Note

If you are using Custom Image mode it can be difficult to see all the diagram objects. Maximize the Diagram Manager window and drag all the hotspot objects to the side of the image where you can see them. Adjust their size in this “work area” and then drag them back one by one to overlay them onto your image.

End of the note.

Caution Caution

Do not choose Auto-Layout mode after moving objects. Auto-Layout organizes diagram objects into a predefined layout and cannot be undone.

End of the caution.
