Screens are optimized for normal fonts. Set the screen resolution to 1024 x 768. Set the Display settings in the Desktop Control Panel to Normal size 96 DPI.

If you want to use large fonts, set the screen resolution to at least 1280 x 1024. Set the Display settings in the Desktop Control Panel to Large size 120 DPI.
